Eddie Dunn currently leads a unique and dynamic veteran talent consulting practice focused on bridging the gap between veterans and employers. Previously, Eddie designed and led the Marsh & McLennan Companies, Veteran Talent Initiative where he more than doubled the total number of veteran hires in less than three years, achieving the coveted recognition as the #1 Military Friendly Employer (MFE) in the nation, as announced by Victory Media, parent company of G.I. Jobs Magazine for 2017.
Prior to joining Marsh & McLennan Companies, Eddie was one of the original architects of the most successful veteran employment programs in U.S. history, the Veteran Jobs Mission for JPMorgan Chase from 2011 to 2014. In this role, he designed, built and grew the nationally recognized coalition of 150 private-sector companies working to employ our nation's veterans. In less than three years time, the coalition hired more than 140,000 veterans, achieving national recognition from FLOTUS Michele Obama and Dr. Jill Biden of the Joining Forces Program during the Obama Administration. Since the inception, the coalition has grown to 200 plus members and has hired nearly 500,000 veterans on its way to a million.
As a published author and national thought leader in the veteran talent space, Eddie most recently founded the nonprofit, Civilian Ready On Day One, a civilian reboot camp process dedicated to accelerating veteran transformation in the workplace. Civilian Ready's primary focus is solving for the pre-employment condition of "re-entry" in cultural assimilation, emotional intelligence and vocational alignment.
Previously in his career, Eddie held several positions of increasing responsibility within the pharmaceutical industry as owner of his own consulting firm, Innovative "Org" Design, focused on organizational leadership and change management. Prior, Eddie was Head of Human Resources North America at Fisher Clinical Services, where he managed the function for three manufacturing sites. Earlier in his career, he was Associate Director of Human Resources at Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
Eddie is a 20-year veteran of the United States Army, both active duty and reserves. Having served in the famed 82nd Airborne Division as a young paratrooper and logistician, he later joined the Army Reserves, where he served in the 824th Quartermaster as a parachute rigger and jumpmaster. During that time, he deployed to Ground Zero during 9/11 and later for Operation Iraqi Freedom II in 2004, where he served with the 160th Military Police Battalion at Camp Bucca. He was later promoted to Master Sergeant, where he held the position of Company First Sergeant, leading the soldiers of the 421st Quartermaster before his retirement in 2008.
